 What's New

New Titles -- January, 2010

Our listings of titles added to our collection during the month of January has just been posted. Check "New Titles" on the dark green sidebar on the left, or New Titles here.

Black History Month

The Library celebrates Black History Month with a display featuring materials on Martin Luther King Jr. and the philosophy of non-violence. King was profoundly influenced by the writings of Mahatma Gandhi and Henry David Thoreau and the power of civil disobedience and non-violent resistance. The display will run the gamut from the writings of these pivotal figures to materials on the use of this philosophy in crucial boycotts, sit-ins, marches, and demonstrations in the Civil Rights Movement.

Kill-a-Watts

The Library has purchased two “Kill-A-Watt” power monitors primarily for use by the Sustainability Program but also for check out to the LSC community. These units measure the amount of electricity being used by various household appliances. Just ask at the circulation desk if you’re interested in checking one out.
